Status of the Website Project
This section should help you not to waste time by looking at empty pages.
However when you are looking at where you may fit into the project it may be well worth your while looking at the structure of the website and our plans for the individual sections.
The columns are as follows:
path - in sequence of the menu on the left of the page
compl tech - estimated completion of the layout and the functionality
compl cont - estimated completion of the content, meaning texts and pictures in one of English or French. This is seen as a percentage of what we would like to have at the beginning but do not have yet. Naturally a well maintained website will always grow, so in most sections even if we were complete now, we ought to have more in a year. We would really appreciate a few Acadian neighbours or others with good French language skills helping us out to get the French language content on a par with the English, right now it is less than 5%. We are very sorry about this.

We would appreciate your input regarding sorting criteria. The texts are mostly based on the little space available in the printed newsletter. Our plea to the organizers is to submit the announcements of all upcoming events per e-mail with a complete description, so that people will know what to expect. One picture of a similar past event of the organizer or a logo can be used to make the announcement visually more stimulating. Please use the opportunities made available to you. |
community | 70% | 2% | From a technical point this is not a demanding section and all that is needed is here. We need material. Please submit what you can make available, in order that this will be an interesting section of upriver-new.ca. |
organisations | 70% | 2% | Again from a technical point this is not a demanding section and all that is needed is here. We need material. To provide this is in your interest because we make advertise for you at no cost to you. |
The Upriver-project | 90% | 80% | This section is essentially complete, what is missing is more detailed content regarding the non-website parts of the project. |
classifieds | 5% | 0% | We can provide simple classified ads basically at a moments notice. Therefore no effort has been put into this yet. This section will grow as it is used. So send us your ads, we will make sure that they are presented properly. This could be a very interesting section of upriver-news.ca, neighbours helping neighbours. |
our guestbook | 85% | Minor adjustments to the layout and the finalisation of the French language version is all that is needed, no need to worry, we can handle your entries into the guestbook. | |

meta tags etc | 100% | 0% | Important topic although it is not in the menu. We need your manpower to get it done, anybody with reasonable language skills can do it. |
All the green percentages look great, but they lead to a wrong impression. The main thing missing is content and one can not be without the other in the internet. So please reward our efforts by providing content and supporting our data entry efforts. More information how you can help is provided
