Even in a democracy it sometimes seems that the opinion of the citizen does not really matter.  Here it is different.  Since the start we have gathered in community halls to listen to one another.  The programmes offered were made possible because of the requests by the people in the community - and they were well received because they came from the community.  Then the printed version of the Upriver-News and this site in the world wide web were started to reach and communicate with everybody in the Upriver community. 

This section posts questions to everybody in the Upriver area in order that we can present the opinion of the residents of this area to those resposible to making a decision.  The first survey was regarding where you would like to see the emphasis in the community development work.  The second survey looks to you for answers regarding what is important to you, when shopping for food.  The next surveys could be drawn up by anybody including you.  Do you have a question that relates to the Upriver area and that you would like to have the opinion of more than just your immediate neighbours, friends and relatives on, then ask using the tools the first survey was created with.  Send us an e-mail with your question and we will get back to you.
